The build-up toWPL 2026got an entertaining twist asMeg LanningandJemimah Rodriguesengaged in friendly off-field banter during a pre-tournament promotional show in Mumbai.
The light-hearted exchange took place at an event featuring all five Women’s Premier League captains, includingSmriti Mandhana(Royal Challengers Bengaluru),Harmanpreet Kaur(Mumbai Indians), andAshleigh Gardner(Gujarat Giants).
During a funtruth-or-daresegment, Lanning was dared to sledge Jemimah—and the UP Warriorz skipper didn’t hold back. With a grin, she quipped:
“So now you know how your fielders feel when they don’t listen to you and keep dancing on the field.”
The remark, a playful nod to Jemimah’s animated on-field leadership style, had the room in splits. Mandhana and Harmanpreet were seen laughing uncontrollably as the captains enjoyed the moment.
The banter carried extra weight given the duo’s shared history.
