ACME Group to Invest ₹12,422 Crore in Odisha for Green Methanol Plant

ACME Group has signed an agreement with IPICOL to build a greenfield plant in Odisha, investing ₹12,422 crore to produce 200,000 tonnes of green methanol for shipping fuel. The move strengthens Odisha’s position as a growing hub for green and technology-driven industrial investments.

ACME Group, one of India’s leading solar platforms, will invest ₹12,422 crore in Odisha to establish a green methanol plant capable of producing 200,000 tonnes annually to fuel ships. The agreement was signed with Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd (IPICOL), with ACME COO Anil Taparia confirming the deal.

The development aligns with Odisha’s broader strategy to transition into a technology-driven industrial hub. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi highlighted the state’s recent investor meets, which attracted proposals worth ₹1.67 lakh crore and the potential to create 1.46 lakh jobs. This investment underscores Odisha’s growing appeal as a destination for sustainable and future-ready industries.
