In a major political development in Balasore district, Abhijit Das, son of former minister and veteran leader Ananta Das, has indicated that he and his family are likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party soon.
According to sources, Abhijit recently met the BJP’s state president along with senior leaders, fuelling strong speculation about his possible induction into the party. He stated that the decision is being taken to fulfil his late father’s unfinished dreams and continue his developmental vision for Bhograi.
Abhijit also clarified that his family did not leave the Biju Janata Dal but claimed the party had distanced itself from them earlier. He emphasised his commitment to the welfare and development of Bhograi and said BJP leaders and workers have been supporting his efforts.
While no official announcement has been made yet, his statement has triggered political buzz across the state.
