A major accident occurred at Tamando Chowk in Bhubaneswar when a container truck collided with a tanker carrying bitumen around 8:30 am on Friday. The impact caused extensive damage to the container truck and a significant bitumen spill that blocked one side of the road, resulting in traffic jams extending up to Khandagiri.
Emergency teams from the Tamando Police Station and Fire Department responded quickly, rescuing the injured drivers and spreading sand over the spillage to prevent further hazards. The container truck driver and his helper were admitted to Capital Hospital, while the tanker driver suffered minor injuries. Dense fog and high speed may have contributed to the accident. Clearance operations are ongoing to restore normal traffic flow.
