Popular Jatra actor Piyush Tripathy has been temporarily prohibited from taking part in stage performances after a Bhubaneswar court issued a notice directing him to stay away from all shows. The court has mandated that Tripathy must personally appear before it and seek formal permission to resume his performances.
The legal case was filed by Surya Mandir Jatra Party producer Pramod Swain, with Singhabahini Jatra Party producer Sanjeev Padhi also named in the proceedings. Padhi has received a separate court notice and has been asked to appear on the 12th of this month, with the option to send his legal representative if necessary.
Until the case is heard and the court provides further directives, Tripathy is not allowed to perform in any Jatra programmes. Any participation without the court's explicit approval would be considered a violation of the order.
Confirming the development, Singhabahini Jatra Party producer Sanjeev Padhi stated that both he and Tripathy have received copies of the notice. He added that Tripathy has already stopped performing as per the court's instructions and will remain off stage until the hearing takes place.
