Odisha has secured a significant presence at the CIDC Viswakarma Awards 2026, with 15 projects shortlisted across multiple categories. The awards, organised by the Construction Industry Development Council, will be presented in New Delhi on April 10.
Out of around 1,550 applications received nationwide, Odisha’s entries stood out in sectors such as buildings, highways, and irrigation. Key shortlisted projects include the Lokayukta Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, the Aquatic Centre, and the Badminton High Performance Centre ‘Shuttle’ developed by the state’s Sports department.
Other major projects include Package OD-07 of the Raipur–Visakhapatnam economic corridor in Koraput and a 250-bed postgraduate mother-and-child hospital block in Jajpur. Additionally, several projects from the Water Resources and Works departments have also made it to the shortlist.
In the individual category, architect Tara Prasad Dhal and engineer Ashok Kumar Basa will be honoured under the Industry Doyen category for their contributions to the construction sector.
The recognition highlights Odisha’s growing role in infrastructure development and its expanding footprint in the national construction landscape.
