Yash’s eagerly awaited filmToxic: A Love Story for Grown-Upshas secured an overseas distribution deal with Phars Film for its Indian-language versions, further boosting pre-release buzz for the project. The deal, valued at Rs 105 crore on a commission basis, covers Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam versions, notably excluding the English version of the film, which was shot simultaneously.
This agreement follows a previous distribution deal worth Rs 120 crore in the Andhra Pradesh–Telangana market with Sri Venkateswara Creations, makingToxicthe first non-Telugu film to secure a deal of this scale in the region. Taken together, these developments indicate sustained trade interest and confidence in the film, even as promotions remain minimal and no teaser has been released.
Ahmad Golchin, CEO and Founder of Phars Film, expressed optimism about the project: “WithToxic, our aim is to support a story that can travel across borders. We look forward to presenting the film to audiences overseas and seeing how it connects with viewers from different backgrounds.” The overseas release will span most markets, excluding Nepal, Japan, and China.
Producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions highlighted the film’s scale and ambition as key factors in attracting international interest. He added, “Toxichas been conceived as a film with a broad cinematic language. For a project of this size, it was important to work with an overseas partner that has strong reach and experience, and Phars Film fits that requirement.”
The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas, co-written by Yash, and shot in Kannada and English, with plans for multiple Indian-language dubbed versions. Following the massive international success of Yash’sKGF: Chapter 2, expectations forToxicremain high, both domestically and overseas.
