A brutal double murder has rockedCuttackdistrict after two young men were allegedly tied to poles and beaten to death inside a Poklen garage near Nirgundi under Tangi police limits.

The victims, Prashant Jena of Choudwar and Mohammed Shoaib of Bilteruan village, had left home on Tuesday saying they were heading to work at a medicine warehouse. When they failed to return, their families began searching. On Wednesday morning, locals found one body inside the garage and the other outside, both bearing severe injury marks.

Assault Under the Influence of Alcohol

Police suspect that garage staff mistook the two men for thieves due to previous theft incidents at the garage. They were allegedly taken inside, tied to poles and brutally assaulted throughout the night. Loud music was reportedly played to drown out their screams, and the attackers were under the influence of alcohol.
