Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli has begun his preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season, sparking excitement among cricket fans. In a video shared on his Instagram account, Kohli was seen practicing a wide variety of shots in the nets, including powerful lofted hits and his trademark classical drives.

The training session shows Kohli working alongside a throwdown specialist as he fine-tunes his batting ahead of the new season. With anticipation building for IPL 2026, the video has generated significant buzz among supporters eager to see the batting great back in action.

Kohli is expected to join the squad of Royal Challengers Bengaluru when the team assembles for its training camp in Bengaluru on March 15, although his participation has not yet been officially confirmed. As the defending IPL champions, RCB will be looking to start the season strongly and defend their title.

The franchise will host five league matches at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, including the tournament’s opening match. In addition, RCB will use Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur as their second home venue, where two league games will be played.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is expected to release the full IPL 2026 schedule soon. The announcement has been delayed due to upcoming state elections in several Indian states.

As expectations rise for the defending champions, Kohli’s early training suggests he is focused on delivering another strong performance when the tournament begins.
