Two Killed, One Critical in Bike–Scooter Collision in Odisha’s Ganjam

Two persons lost their lives and three others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a scooter in Ganjam district on Wednesday night. The accident occurred near Budhaamba under the jurisdiction of Kabisuryanagar police station.

A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two persons and left three others injured after a motorcycle and a scooter collided head-on near Budhaamba in Ganjam district on Wednesday night.

According to police sources, the accident occurred when the two two-wheelers were travelling in opposite directions and crashed into each other with considerable impact. The severity of the collision resulted in the instant death of two riders at the spot.

The deceased have been identified asRudranarayan DashandRashmiranjan Padhi, both residents ofKumuti Sahi in Kodala. Their bodies were recovered from the accident site and sent for post-mortem examination.

Three other individuals sustained injuries in the mishap. One of the injured remains in critical condition and has been referred toMKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur, for advanced treatment. The remaining two injured persons are reportedly stable and undergoing medical care.

Police personnel from the Kabisuryanagar police station reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated an investigation. Officials said they are examining factors such as road conditions, visibility, and vehicle movement to determine the exact cause of the collision.
