Parasakthi team celebrates Pongal with PM Modi in Delhi, GV Prakash shares glimpse

The festive spirit of Pongal reached the national capital as the team ofParasakthipaid a special visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. Director Sudha Kongara was joined by lead actorsSivakarthikeyanandRavi Mohan, along with composer GV Prakash Kumar and other members of the film’s unit.

Sharing glimpses from the meeting on social media, GV Prakash described the interaction as a memorable and emotional moment. In his post, he revealed that a track from his acclaimed Tamil pride albumThiruvaasagamwas performed during the Pongal 2026 celebrations in front of the Prime Minister. The performance marked the first time a composition from the album was presented at such a high-profile national event.

One of the photographs from the gathering, widely shared online, shows Sivakarthikeyan smiling proudly as Prime Minister Modi greets GV Prakash. Fans of Tamil cinema quickly latched onto the image, calling it a moment of recognition and pride for the industry. Another picture captured PM Modi seated alongside Sivakarthikeyan, GV Prakash, Ravi Mohan, and others in the front row during the celebrations.

The meeting added a celebratory note toParasakthi’s recent theatrical release. The film, which hit cinemas on January 10, had faced a tense last-minute hurdle with theCentral Board of Film Certification, receiving a U/A certificate with 25 modifications just a day before release.

WhileParasakthihas received mixed critical and audience reactions, the producers have maintained that the film has emerged profitable for exhibitors and stakeholders. The Pongal meeting with the Prime Minister, coupled with GV Prakash’s performance, has further amplified the film’s visibility, turning the festival into a moment of cultural pride for the team and Tamil cinema at large.
