The probe into the tragic deaths of three minor sisters in Ghaziabad has grown increasingly complex as police uncover contradictions in their father Chetan Kumar’s statements and disturbing details about the children’s upbringing. The girls had jumped from the ninth floor of a high-rise, and investigators are now examining the incident through the lens of family conflict, financial stress, and possible mental pressure.
During questioning, Chetan revealed details about his three marriages, including contradictory claims about his relationship with a young woman named Tina, whom he initially described as his sister-in-law but later admitted was his third wife. Police say this inconsistency has become a key focus of the investigation.
Authorities are also scrutinising the timeline of his marriages, as the age of his eldest daughter raises doubts about his stated reasons for remarrying. Verification has been challenging due to the absence of documentation and the illiteracy of his earlier wives.
Investigators have further noted that despite living in a three-bedroom flat, the entire family slept in a single room, raising questions about how the girls left unnoticed late at night. It has also emerged that the sisters had been out of school for several years, allegedly due to financial hardship.
Police are attempting to trace two mobile phones previously used by the girls, which were sold shortly before the incident. Officials say post-mortem reports, school records, phone data, and further questioning will be crucial in determining the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
