Aspirants preparing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 can expect the much-awaited admit cards to be released soon.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organizing institute for GATE 2026, will issue the hall tickets on the official portal, though the exact release date is yet to be confirmed. Originally scheduled for January 2, the admit card release was postponed, leaving candidates eagerly awaiting an official update. Once released, registered applicants can download their admit cards fromgate2026.iitg.ac.in.
Meanwhile, registered candidates can familiarize themselves with the exam format through the official GATE 2026 mock test released by IIT Guwahati. This practice test simulates the actual computer-based test environment, helping candidates build confidence and refine their exam strategies ahead of the main examination.
The GATE 2026 examination will be conducted inComputer-Based Test (CBT)mode onFebruary 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. Each day will have two sessions:
Morning:9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Afternoon:2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Each paper will lastthree hoursand carry a total of100 marks:
General Aptitude:15 marks
Core Subject Paper:85 marks
MCQs:Negative marking for incorrect answers
MSQs & NAT Questions:No negative marking
This scheme rewards accuracy while providing flexibility in non-MCQ sections.
