The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Sunday launched an on-site investigation into the charter aircraft accident at Jalda in Rourkela, Odisha, as the state government focused on providing urgent medical care to the injured. A DGCA team reached the site and conducted a detailed probe, including an aerial survey, to determine the circumstances behind the aircraft’s forced landing.

Odisha Transport Secretary Usha Padhee said the Chief Minister is closely monitoring the situation and has directed all possible assistance for the injured. A two-member medical team was deployed to assess the passengers and crew, with air ambulance support ready if needed. Two senior doctors from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, and Dharanidhar Medical College were brought in for expert evaluation.

Two injured passengers, Sunil Agarwal and Sabita Agarwal, were airlifted for further treatment at their request. Rourkela Collector Subhankar Mohapatra reported that all patients are stable, with one being monitored for a pre-existing kidney condition, while others sustained fractures.

Padhee lauded the district administration and police for their prompt response, noting that the investigation will follow standard civil aviation procedures to determine the cause of the incident. Transport Minister Bibhuti Jena confirmed the state government is providing full support for medical care, rescue operations, and related services for those affected.
