Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Leads India’s U19 World Cup Celebrations After Historic 175 in Final

Teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi starred with a record-breaking 175 in the U19 World Cup final against England and later led India’s jubilant dressing-room celebrations with energetic Bhojpuri dance moves.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ensured India’s latest U19 World Cup triumph would be remembered not only for its cricketing brilliance but also for its joyous celebrations. Shortly after India secured their sixth title, Sooryavanshi took centre stage during an Instagram Live session inside the dressing room, sharing the emotional moment with fans alongside captain Ayush Mhatre and teammates.

When asked about the victory, Mhatre humbly credited Sooryavanshi for the achievement, drawing cheers from the squad. Moments later, the young batter broke into an impromptu dance to popular Bhojpuri songs, adding a vibrant and distinctly Indian flavour to the celebrations.

Earlier in the day, Sooryavanshi had delivered a breathtaking performance in the final against England at the Harare Sports Club. The left-hander smashed a sensational 175 off just 80 balls, striking 15 fours and 15 sixes, as India sealed a commanding 100-run victory.

The 14-year-old finished the tournament as India’s highest run-scorer with 439 runs in seven matches at an average of 62.71 and a strike rate of 169.49, including one century and three half-centuries. His knock in the final became the highest individual score in a U19 World Cup final and featured the fastest century ever recorded in a final, reached in only 55 balls. The performance earned him both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament honours.

England’s Caleb Falconer mounted a spirited response with a superb 115 off 67 deliveries, but his effort was not enough to deny India a dominant title win. Ultimately, Sooryavanshi’s historic innings defined the final and confirmed his arrival as one of the brightest young talents in world cricket.
