Global pop icon Taylor Swift has been officially inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, marking a major milestone in her already historic career. At 36, Swift becomes the second-youngest living inductee, following Stevie Wonder, who was honoured at age 32.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2026 on Wednesday, with Swift joining an elite group that includes Alanis Morissette, Kenny Loggins, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, Walter Afanasieff, and Kiss members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. Songwriting duo Graham Lyle and Terry Britten were also named among the inductees.

Eligibility for induction requires a songwriter’s first commercial release to be at least 20 years old, a criterion Swift met through her 2006 debut single Tim McGraw. Her winning submission showcased the depth of her songwriting career, featuring tracks such as All Too Well (10 Minute Version), Blank Space, Anti-Hero, Love Story, and The Last Great American Dynasty.

The induction ceremony will take place on June 11 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The honour comes during a busy phase in Swift’s life, as speculation continues around her expected wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce later this year.

Professionally, Swift continues to dominate the charts. Her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, released in October 2025, remains a chart staple, while tracks like The Fate of Ophelia and Opalite have delivered major Billboard successes, reinforcing her status as one of the most influential songwriters of her generation.
