Tarn Taran Law Student Dies After Shooting Classmate and Himself in College Classroom

A first-year law student in Tarn Taran shot dead his female classmate inside their college classroom before turning the gun on himself. He later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Amritsar.

A tragic shooting incident at Mai Bhago Law College in Usma village, Tarn Taran, claimed the lives of two first-year law students. On February 9, 20-year-old Prince Raj allegedly shot his 19-year-old classmate Sandeep Kaur inside their classroom before shooting himself in the head.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the classroom. The footage showed Prince taking a pistol from his bag and firing at Sandeep while other students were present. She died on the spot. Prince was rushed to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar, where he succumbed to his injuries late Wednesday night.

Sandeep’s family alleged that Prince had been harassing her and had followed her home in the past. She was reportedly engaged to be married. Police said the weapon used appeared to be illegal. A case has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder, along with relevant sections of the Arms Act. Investigations are ongoing.
