Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls to Begin in Odisha from April 1, Says CEO R. Santhagopalan

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will start in Odisha from April 1 to ensure accurate voter records. Officials have urged citizens to verify their details and report errors to help maintain a clean and transparent electoral roll.

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is set to begin across Odisha from April 1, according to Chief Electoral Officer R. Santhagopalan. The revision aims to update voter records, remove duplicate and ineligible entries, and include eligible voters who may have been left out.

Preparatory work, including mapping and groundwork, is already underway to ensure smooth implementation. Citizens have been requested to verify their information in the 2002 SIR list and report any discrepancies to election authorities.

The revision exercise is part of efforts to maintain transparency, accuracy, and fairness in the electoral process ahead of upcoming elections. The Election Department has appealed to voters to actively participate in the verification process to help create an error-free electoral database.
