A devastating train accident in southern Spain claimed at least 21 lives and left around 100 people injured after two high-speed trains collided near the town of Adamuz. The collision involved a Renfe-operated train traveling from Madrid to Huelva and an Iryo train heading from Málaga to Madrid.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and carried out rescue operations under extremely difficult conditions, as several passengers were trapped inside damaged carriages. Hospitals across the region were put on high alert, while both train operators activated emergency response protocols immediately following the crash.
As a result of the incident, high-speed rail services between Madrid and Andalusia were severely disrupted. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, darkness, and panic inside the train coaches at the moment of impact. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
