Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth has reignited the debate over media ethics by condemning the practice of filming women from “inappropriate angles” during public events. In a strongly worded Instagram post, she highlighted how repeated zoom-ins on female actors’ bodies at celebrations, promotional events, and cultural functions reduce women’s achievements to voyeuristic visuals.

Vasanth stressed that such behavior is disrespectful, unacceptable, and undermines the professionalism of female actors. She called on media personnel to uphold decency and accountability, stating that the industry must unite in setting boundaries and supporting every woman who has experienced objectification.

Her remarks echo concerns raised by actresses like Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, and Parvathy Thiruvothu, who have long questioned the hyper-focus on appearance over work. Rukmini Vasanth, praised for her performance inKantara: A Legend Chapter 1, will next appear in Yash’s upcomingToxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, now scheduled for release on June 4, 2026.
