At least five people were injured in a violent clash between two local groups over a road construction dispute in Inchola-Paramanandapur villages under Anandapur subdivision, Keonjhar district, on Sunday morning.
Tensions had been building for several days over the execution of the road work. When construction resumed, members of the rival groups confronted each other, leading to a heated argument that quickly escalated into stone-pelting and physical assaults. The violence caused panic in the village and disrupted normal life.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. One of them, Satyananda Jena, a daily wager, said he was attacked on his head and hands while trying to work at the construction site.
Police forces were deployed promptly to the area to restore law and order, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further escalation. No official comments were received from the local police regarding the incident.
