A video showing a man using a mobile phone inside Puri Srimandir’s Anand Bazaar area has gone viral, highlighting yet another security lapse at the temple. Despite strict rules allowing only authorised personnel to carry phones, the footage shows the man speaking on the device for an extended period, raising concerns about enforcement of temple regulations.
Recorded reportedly from near the Singhadwar, the video has drawn criticism over recurring security breaches, while the identities of the person using the phone and the individual he was speaking with remain unknown.
No official response has been issued by the temple authorities or police so far.
