Priyanka Chopra Jonas has addressed the years of speculation surrounding her marriage to Nick Jonas, saying that while public criticism once affected her deeply, she has since learned to ignore the noise. In a recent interview with Variety, the actor reflected on how scrutiny over their age gap, cultural differences and whirlwind romance followed them from the start.
Chopra admitted that the commentary was initially hurtful, especially the assumptions that their marriage would not last. However, instead of focusing on public opinion, she and Jonas chose to focus on each other. She explained that over time, the criticism became easier to brush aside, describing it as something that no longer holds power over their relationship.
The actor also spoke candidly about how quickly their romance progressed. The couple married within six months of meeting in 2018, a decision that surprised many — including Chopra herself. She recalled questioning whether everything felt “too good to be true” in the early days but said Jonas’ sincerity and grounded nature reassured her.
Priyanka highlighted Nick’s consistency, upbringing and authenticity as qualities that continue to inspire her. The couple, who tied the knot in Rajasthan in both Christian and Hindu ceremonies, welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, in 2022. Today, Chopra says their bond remains strong, built on mutual respect and understanding rather than outside validation.
