Odisha Vigilance Raids Properties of Water Resources Engineer Over Disproportionate Assets

Odisha Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids at seven locations linked to Assistant Executive Engineer Pramod Ray over allegations of possessing disproportionate assets. Searches were carried out across several districts including Kendrapara, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha Vigilance on Saturday carried out simultaneous raids on properties linked to Pramod Ray, an Assistant Executive Engineer in the Odisha Water Resources Department, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Pramod Ray is currently posted in the Derabish Irrigation Division in Kendrapara district. Acting on the allegations, vigilance teams launched searches at seven locations linked to him across multiple districts.

According to sources, raids were conducted at properties in Kendrapara,Cuttack,Dhenkanal,Bhadrak, and Bhubaneswar.

In Bhubaneswar, officials searched a four-storey residential building located in the Balianta area that is allegedly linked to the engineer. Another two-storey house at Choudwar was also examined during the operation.

As part of the investigation, vigilance teams also verified the residences of Ray’s relatives in Bhadrak and Dhenkanal. Officials are currently examining documents, financial records and other materials recovered during the searches to determine the extent of assets owned by the engineer.

A large vigilance team has been deployed for the operation. The raids are being conducted under the supervision of two Additional Superintendents of Police, supported by seven Deputy Superintendents of Police along with inspectors and sub-inspectors.

Authorities said the action is part of an ongoing probe into allegations that the engineer accumulated wealth beyond his known sources of income. Officials have not yet confirmed the total value of the assets or the length of Ray’s government service. The investigation is continuing.
