Odisha’s per capita income registered a robust growth of 9.2 per cent in the financial year 2025–26, surpassing the national average growth rate and reflecting sustained economic expansion in the state.
According to official estimates, the state’s per capita income increased to Rs 1,86,761 during 2025–26. In comparison, the all-India per capita income growth stood at 6.9 per cent during the same period, placing Odisha ahead of the national average in terms of income growth.
The agriculture and allied sectors continued to play a significant role in Odisha’s economic performance. In 2025–26, these sectors recorded a growth rate of 5.3 per cent in the state, compared to the national growth rate of 3.1 per cent.
The higher growth in agriculture and allied activities highlights the comparatively stronger performance of the primary sector in Odisha, contributing positively to overall income levels and rural economic activity.
At current prices, Odisha’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is estimated to reach Rs 9.9 lakh crore in 2025–26. The expansion in GSDP reflects increased economic activity across key sectors, including agriculture, industry and service.
