Odisha Govt Appoints Shri Surendra Kumar, IAS as Additional Chief Secretary, GA & PG Department

The Odisha government has appointed senior IAS officer Shri Surendra Kumar as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government in the General Administration & Public Grievance Department.

The Government of Odisha has issued an official notification appointing senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Shri Surendra Kumar, IAS (RR-1993), as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government in the General Administration & Public Grievance Department. The appointment has been made through Notification No. 3938/AIS.I.

Prior to this appointment, Shri Surendra Kumar was serving as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government in the Steel & Mines Department. He was also holding additional charge of the General Administration & Public Grievance Department and the Parliamentary Affairs Department.

As per the notification, Shri Surendra Kumar has now been formally appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, General Administration & Public Grievance Department. However, he has been allowed to continue holding the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Parliamentary Affairs Department.

The General Administration & Public Grievance Department plays a pivotal role in the overall governance and administrative functioning of the state. The department is responsible for personnel management, administrative reforms, and addressing public grievances. The appointment of an experienced officer like Shri Surendra Kumar is expected to strengthen administrative efficiency and improve inter-departmental coordination.

The notification states that the appointment and additional charge arrangement have been approved by the competent authority and will remain effective until further orders. Such administrative decisions are part of routine government processes to ensure continuity and smooth functioning of key departments.
