In Bargarh, Odisha Congress staged a large rally highlighting farmers’ grievances over the Kharif paddy procurement process. Issues raised included expired tokens, delayed paddy lifting, and unfair deductions, leaving many cultivators unable to sell their crops on time.
A memorandum was submitted to the District Collector seeking issuance of tokens to all eligible farmers and reimbursement of transportation costs. Congress leaders urged authorities to expedite procurement and provide relief amid the ongoing Rabi season.
