Night temperatures rise across Odisha as cold wave weakens under western disturbance influence

Residents of Odisha have experienced mild relief from the cold as a gradual rise in night temperatures has eased winter conditions across several parts of the state.

Residents across Odisha have felt mild relief from the cold as temperatures, especially during nighttime, have begun to rise. The increase in minimum temperatures has gradually reduced the severity of winter conditions in several parts of the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, the changing weather pattern is being influenced by western disturbances, which have contributed to a rise in temperatures across many regions. As a result, the intense chill experienced earlier has eased to some extent. Forecasts suggest that night temperatures are likely to climb further in the coming days, leading to a continued weakening of cold wave conditions.

Weather officials, however, noted that minimum temperatures may fluctuate by around 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next four days. The impact of two active western disturbances is expected to bring moisture-bearing winds into the state, further influencing night temperatures and moderating winter intensity.

Despite the improvement in temperatures, foggy conditions are likely to persist in several districts. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate fog in areas including Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Kalahandi over today and tomorrow.

People have been advised to remain cautious during early morning and late-night hours due to reduced visibility caused by fog.
