Passengers in western and southern Odisha are set to benefit from improved rail connectivity following the approval of a new Amrit Bharat train linking Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu with Dhanbad in Jharkhand. The train will pass through nine important railway stations across Odisha, enhancing interstate travel and connectivity.
The route will include Rayagada, Muniguda, Kesinga, Titilagarh and Bolangir, providing better rail access for passengers in southern Odisha. It will also run through Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Rourkela, connecting several major towns and transport hubs in western Odisha.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi welcomed the announcement and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the new train service. He said the initiative would significantly improve travel convenience and strengthen connectivity between Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand.
The introduction of the Coimbatore–Dhanbad Amrit Bharat train is expected to benefit a large number of passengers by providing better travel options and making Odisha’s rail network more accessible.
