Namibia Cricket has unveiled its 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be held across India and Sri Lanka in February–March. The side will once again be captained by Gerhard Erasmus, who leads a young and evolving squad as Namibia continues to invest in long-term player development.
The selection reflects a clear focus on youth, with five players having fewer than 10 international appearances. At the same time, Namibia have retained a strong core of experienced players including Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Zane Green, Bernard Scholtz, Jan Frylinck, JJ Smit, Malan Kruger and Ruben Trumpelmann to provide stability during high-pressure matches.
In the batting department, top-order batter Louren Steenkamp adds firepower with a T20I strike rate of 126.85. Young middle-order options Jan Balt, Dylan Leicher and Willem Myburgh have also been included, underlining Namibia’s commitment to building squad depth beyond the tournament.
The pace attack will be led by Jack Brassell, the 20-year-old fast bowler who already has experience across ODIs and T20Is. He is supported by Ben Shikongo and Max Heingo, the latter having made his debut during Namibia’s landmark T20I win over South Africa last year. All-rounders Jan Frylinck and Ruben Trumpelmann bring balance and experience to the bowling unit.
Former World Cup-winning coach Gary Kirsten has been appointed as a consultant for the tournament, while Craig Williams will continue as head coach. Kirsten’s presence is seen as a significant boost to Namibia’s tactical preparation and game management.
Namibia have been drawn into a tough group featuring India, Pakistan, the Netherlands and the USA, making adaptability and squad depth crucial. With a mix of youth, experience and expert guidance, Namibia will be aiming to punch above their weight once again on the global stage.
