In an interview withVogue Australia, both stars revealed that their close bond translated into strong on-screen chemistry and created a sense of separation anxiety whenever they had to shoot scenes apart.
Robbie admitted feeling unexpectedly possessive while watching Elordi perform with other co-stars, while Elordi shared that filming without Robbie felt uncomfortable. The actors said their relationship shaped the atmosphere on set and deepened their performances as Cathy and Heathcliff. Robbie also praised Elordi’s portrayal of Heathcliff, calling him “our generation’s Daniel Day-Lewis.”
The film, set for a February 2026 release, aims to balance Emily Brontë’s classic novel with a modern cinematic sensibility.
