Shares of Infosys climbed nearly 3% to around Rs 1,407 on February 17 after the IT major announced a strategic collaboration with US-based AI company Anthropic. The partnership aims to build advanced enterprise-grade Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions tailored for highly regulated industries.
The announcement comes shortly after Anthropic launched its first India office in Bengaluru, signaling a stronger focus on the Indian market. As part of the collaboration, the two companies will integrate Anthropic’s Claude AI models—including Claude Code—with Infosys’ Topaz AI platform to develop intelligent AI agents capable of handling complex, compliance-heavy tasks autonomously.
Anthropic CEO and co-founder Dario Amodei emphasized that deploying AI in regulated industries requires deep domain expertise beyond basic AI demonstrations. He noted that Infosys brings strong industry knowledge across telecommunications, financial services, and manufacturing—key sectors where AI adoption demands precision and strict compliance standards.
The partnership will initially focus on the telecommunications sector through a dedicated Anthropic Centre of Excellence. In telecom, AI tools are expected to modernize network systems, improve customer service, and streamline operations.
In financial services, AI solutions will help banks identify risks faster, automate compliance reporting, and deliver personalized customer insights. Manufacturing firms can use AI simulations to speed up product design and reduce research timelines. Meanwhile, software development teams will benefit from AI-assisted coding, testing, and debugging, accelerating product development cycles.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh described the collaboration as a strategic step toward redefining how enterprises innovate and operate. The partnership aims to enable organizations to unlock greater efficiency, resilience, and long-term value through responsible and industry-compliant AI adoption.
The market reaction reflects investor optimism about Infosys strengthening its enterprise AI capabilities amid growing global demand for advanced AI-driven solutions.
