Gujarat is set to conduct its Class 10 and 12 board exams from February 26 to March 18, 2026, with over 15.27 lakh students registered. This reflects an increase of 97,000 candidates compared to last year, according to the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB).
Class 10: 907,175 students at 1,006 centres across 87 zones
Class 12 Science: 119,263 students at 156 centres
Class 12 Commerce: 501,286 students
Students with Disabilities: 4,877 in Commerce and 2,293 in Science streams
The Board has introduced stringent security measures to ensure exam integrity:
Valid hole-punched tickets are mandatory for entry.
Remorse boxes are provided to deposit unauthorised materials.
Mobile phones are banned for students; only squad members may carry phones.
CCTV cameras will monitor all exam sections, and recordings will be preserved.
These steps aim to deter malpractice, promote fairness, and maintain transparency across all exam centres.
Arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam.
Students are advised to avoid wearing shoes and socks if possible.
Calculators: Allowed for Class 12, prohibited for Class 10.
Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones and smartwatches, are strictly banned.
The Board has also emphasized special arrangements for 7,170 students with disabilities appearing for Class 12 exams, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
This year’s exam protocols highlight GSHSEB’s focus on safety, fairness, and equal opportunity for all candidates. Students and staff are expected to adhere strictly to these regulations as the board exams proceed over the three-week period.
