A fuel shortage has been reported in the Lamtaput area of Odisha’s Koraput district, where several petrol pumps have remained closed for the past two days due to the unavailability of petrol and diesel. Residents and vehicle owners have been visiting fuel stations hoping to refill their vehicles but are returning disappointed as supplies have not reached the pumps.
The shortage has caused major inconvenience to commuters, with some drivers reportedly stranded on roads after running out of fuel. Routine travel and daily activities in the region have been disrupted due to the lack of fuel availability.
Despite government assurances that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel, local fuel stations remain shut because fresh supplies have not yet arrived. Some residents have linked the disruption to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, though officials have not confirmed any such connection.
Reports suggest that fuel supplies may reach the area soon, which could allow petrol pumps to reopen later and bring relief to motorists facing difficulties.
