A drunk man was injured after his vehicle rammed into an electric pole at Laxmi Sagar, in front of Dalakhai Temple, in Bhubaneswar, triggering panic among local residents and commuters.
The incident occurred when the man allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to intoxication, causing it to skid off the road and crash into the pole with significant force.
The injured man has been identified as Subham Kumar Sahoo. Soon after the accident, local police and emergency services rushed to the spot and shifted him to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The collision led to brief traffic disruption in the area as authorities cleared the damaged vehicle and ensured public safety.
Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances of the crash and are verifying whether the man was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
