In 2024, Delhi’s Labour Department recorded 21,000 registrations at its employment exchange, including over 1,400 postgraduates, 1,342 diploma holders, and five PhDs. Of the total, 13,997 were men, 7,025 women, and one transgender applicant.
The year saw 19,941 applicants register on the online portal, down from 43,217 in 2023. Graduates from arts led with 2,925 applicants, followed by 1,025 science graduates, while 10,069 candidates had education up to matric, higher secondary, or intermediate levels. Delhi’s unemployment rate rose to 2.1% in 2023-24 from 1.9% earlier.
