A dance bar in the Capital Police Station area of Bhubaneswar has come under scrutiny for allegedly operating without the required permissions and violating excise regulations.
Exclusive visuals reportedly showed dancers performing inside the premises, with money being showered on the dance floor. Sources claimed that the establishment remained open late into the night, allegedly flouting prescribed operating hours under existing excise norms.
According to preliminary information, the bar was conducting dance performances without obtaining mandatory approvals from the concerned authorities. The incident has raised serious concerns over monitoring mechanisms and enforcement of excise rules in the state capital.
Following reports of the alleged irregularities, officials from the Excise Department carried out a surprise inspection at the premises. Authorities confirmed that a special team has been formed to examine the CCTV footage installed at the establishment to verify the claims.
The Excise Superintendent stated that the recordings will be carefully scrutinised to determine whether any violations of operational guidelines or licensing conditions occurred. If the allegations are substantiated, strict action will be taken against the bar in accordance with the law.
Officials reiterated that all bars and similar establishments must adhere strictly to excise norms, including operational timings, licensing requirements, and performance permissions. Any deviation from the prescribed guidelines could attract stringent legal consequences.
