Crime Branch Flags Kendrapara Class 7 Student Gang Rape Case, Senior Officer Assigned to Probe

The Crime Branch has placed the Kendrapara Class 7 student gang rape case under its red flag category to ensure a faster and closer investigation. Five accused, including teachers and a peon, have been arrested, while officials intensify efforts to collect evidence and expedite the trial.

The investigation into the alleged gang rape of a Class 7 student at a private school in Kendrapara district has intensified, with the Crime Branch categorising the case under its ‘red flag’ list for priority handling. A senior officer has been assigned to supervise the probe, while a dedicated Investigating Officer and Public Prosecutor will ensure proper evidence collection and speedy judicial proceedings.

Earlier, Rajkanika Police Station arrested five accused, including a female teacher, three male teachers, and a peon, in connection with the alleged crime. Reports suggest the assault took place inside the school premises, possibly in a classroom or science laboratory, and the victim was allegedly threatened to remain silent.

The case came to light after the victim’s mother filed a complaint with the Child Welfare Committee, which initiated an inquiry. Authorities are continuing the investigation under strict supervision to ensure justice.
