Chickenpox Cases Reported in Gajapati Village; Health Team Assesses Situation

A district health team visited Gurujhuli village under Mohana block in Gajapati district after several residents were reportedly affected by Chickenpox in recent days.

A district-level health team visited Gurujhuli village under Mohana block in Gajapati district of Odisha after several residents were reportedly affected by Chickenpox in recent days.

The visit was carried out to assess the situation on the ground and provide medical guidance to villagers following reports that men, women and children had contracted the viral infection.

Health Team Reviews Situation

According to sources, multiple cases of chickenpox had been reported in Gurujhuli village over the past few days. Following these reports, a three-member team from the district administration visited the village on Tuesday to evaluate the situation.

The team was accompanied by healthcare workers from medical facilities in Mohana and Birikot. During their visit, officials interacted with villagers and reviewed the health conditions in the area.

Pradeep Kumar Mohapatra, Additional District Medical Officer of Gajapati, said the team conducted a detailed review of the situation.

“We visited Gurujhuli village to assess the reported chickenpox cases. At present, all affected individuals have recovered and are doing well,” he said.

Advisory Issued to Residents

Health officials informed villagers that chickenpox is a viral disease that can affect anyone and often spreads through close contact. During the inspection, officials did not identify any specific source of infection.

The medical team also advised residents on preventive measures and hygiene practices to prevent further spread of the infection.

After completing their assessment and interacting with local residents, the team returned from the village.

Officials said the situation in Gurujhuli village is currentlyunder control, and health authorities will continue monitoring the area to ensure that the infection does not spread further.
