Concern spread in Odisha’s Balasore district after the bodies of a man and a woman were found near a railway track close to the Baghbali railway gate under the jurisdiction of Jaleswar police station on Tuesday.
According to preliminary information, the two individuals were reportedly run over by a train late on Monday night. The incident came to light when local residents noticed the bodies lying near the railway gate and immediately alerted the authorities.
Police sources said the deceased man was believed to be a resident of Jaleswar, while the woman reportedly hailed from the Baliapal block in Balasore district. However, officials have not yet officially confirmed the identities of the victims or the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
The discovery of the bodies created concern among locals in the area as people gathered near the railway gate after hearing about the incident.
Soon after receiving information, railway police reached the spot and began an investigation. The bodies were recovered from the site, and authorities have started examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Officials are currently trying to gather more details about the victims and determine whether the incident was an accident, suicide, or involved any other circumstances.
As of now, no official statement has been issued by the police regarding the exact cause of the deaths. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
