BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara Member of Parliament Baijayant Panda on Monday attended the condolence meeting (Sraddhanjali Sabha) of former legislator Kulamani Rout in Kendrapara district. The meeting was held at Sankarpur village under Derabish block, where Panda offered floral tributes to the late leader and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
Addressing the gathering, Panda said Kulamani Rout had carved a distinct place for himself in Odisha’s political landscape through his dedication, integrity, and commitment to public service. He noted that the former MLA was particularly concerned about the development of the agricultural sector and consistently worked for the welfare of farmers.
The Kendrapara MP also recalled that Rout remained closely connected with people at the grassroots level throughout his political career. Describing him as a rare personality with a strong moral image, Panda said leaders like Kulamani Rout, who combine humility with dedication to public service, are uncommon in politics.
The condolence meeting was attended by leaders from various political parties, intellectuals, public representatives, senior teachers, social workers, and family members of the late leader. Former Minister Debasis Nayak also paid tribute, remembering Rout as a compassionate leader who loved the region and always tried to help people, even during the later years of his life.
