BJD Suspends MLAs Arvind Mohapatra and Sanatan Mahakud Over Anti-Party Activities
In a major political move in Odisha, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday suspended MLAs Arvind Mohapatra and Sanatan Mahakud with immediate effect for alleged anti-party activities.
According to a press release, “Shri Arvind Mohapatra, MLA, and Shri Sanatan Mahakud, MLA, are hereby suspended from Biju Janata Dal with immediate effect for their involvement in anti-party activities.”
BJD sources stated that Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud had been leaning towards the BJP and openly expressing resentment against the BJD, while Patkura MLA Arvind Mohapatra was allegedly involved in anti-party activities within his constituency.
BJD leader Dibya Shankar Mishra emphasized, “Stern action will be taken against anyone found involved in anti-party activities. The decision is based on careful deliberation, intelligence reports, and solid evidence, confirming the involvement of the suspended leaders.”
Ganeswar Behera added, “The party had to act as their actions were detrimental to BJD’s interests, leaving no room for inaction. Consequently, disciplinary measures were taken.”
