A major road accident was reported in Odisha’s capital, Bhubaneswar, in the early hours of Monday after a car crashed through a roadside barricade on the Shishu Bhavan overbridge and plunged down from the flyover, narrowly missing residents of nearby houses.The driver survived the crash and was rescued from the heavily damaged vehicle. Police confirmed that no fatalities were reported in the incident. Officials indicated that the deployment of airbags may have helped reduce the severity of injuries sustained by the driver.Police personnel reached the spot soon after receiving information and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
