Three arrested in Bargarh murder case, police cite love-related dispute

Bargarh Town Police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Chandan Kumar Rout, whose body was found on January 3 in the Ghulipali area of Bargarh district. Police said preliminary investigation suggests the crime was linked to a love-related dispute. The accused have been produced before the court.

Bargarh Town Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the murder of Chandan Kumar Rout, whose body was recovered on January 3 from the Ghulipali area of Bargarh district. The incident, believed to have been triggered by a love-related dispute, had caused panic and concern among local residents.

According to police, the body of Chandan Rout, son of Sarat Kumar Rout of Bandutikra village, was found lying in front of a Hanuman Temple. Following the discovery, his father lodged a complaint alleging that his son had been murdered by unknown persons. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched a detailed investigation.

Bargarh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Padarabinda Tripathy said that during the course of the investigation, three accused—Sumit Suna, Suman Urma and Abhishek Patra—were arrested in connection with the case. He confirmed that the arrests were made after collecting technical and circumstantial evidence.

Police have seized a knife, a mobile phone and a car, all of which are suspected to have been used in the commission of the crime. The SDPO said further investigation is underway to ascertain the complete sequence of events and to determine whether any other persons were involved.

Police have appealed to the public to share any information that may assist the investigation. Authorities stated that the arrests were made to ensure justice for the victim and to provide closure to the bereaved family, while efforts continue to uncover all aspects of the case.
