Tension gripped Balasore district on Monday after a woman, identified as Lusi, daughter of Baburam Dehuri, was found dead under suspicious circumstances, prompting serious allegations from her family of dowry-related harassment. Lusi, a resident of Padiaripalli village in Keonjhar district, was reportedly subjected to pressure and harassment from her in-laws over dowry demands, which her family claims led to her untimely death.
Her body was discovered hanging, and police from Khaira police station have registered a case of unnatural death and launched a detailed investigation. The incident sparked public outrage, with locals staging a road blockade demanding justice for Lusi.
