Air India has extended the suspension of all flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar until midnight on Monday as the Israel–Iran conflict continues to disrupt air travel across West Asia. Select Europe-bound flights scheduled for March 2 have also been cancelled due to operational constraints linked to restricted airspace.
The suspension has left numerous passengers stranded at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, where multiple departures were either cancelled or delayed. Budget carrier Akasa Air has also suspended flights to Abu Dhabi, Doha, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh until March 2, 2026. Air India Express has cancelled over 110 flights, while international carriers such as Emirates and flights at Doha’s Hamad International Airport have temporarily suspended operations.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has activated its Passenger Assistance Control Room (PACR) to address grievances and travel queries, coordinating with airlines and airport operators to resolve disruptions. Across major airports like Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Tiruchirappalli International Airport, numerous arrivals and departures have been cancelled.
Authorities have advised passengers to monitor flight status continuously, as schedules remain highly volatile due to regional tensions, including missile strikes by the United States and Israel targeting sites in Iran, leading to widespread airspace closures.
