Air Ambulance Crash in Chatra Kills Burn Patient, Family Who Took Rs 8 Lakh Loan for Treatment

Seven people, including a burn patient and his family, died after an air ambulance crashed shortly after takeoff from Ranchi. The family had taken a Rs 8 lakh loan to shift the patient to Delhi for advanced treatment.

In a heartbreaking incident, seven people lost their lives after an air ambulance crashed in Chatra district of Jharkhand shortly after taking off from Ranchi. The victims included 41-year-old burn patient Sanjay Kumar, his wife Archana Devi, and relative Dhruv Kumar, along with two pilots, a doctor, and a paramedic.

Sanjay had suffered severe burn injuries following a fire caused by an electric short circuit at his hotel in Chandwa. As his condition worsened, his family arranged to shift him to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment. To afford the costly air ambulance and medical expenses, the family took a loan of Rs 8 lakh and borrowed money from relatives and friends.

The ill-fated aircraft was operated by Redbird Airways and crashed shortly after takeoff, killing everyone on board. The deceased also included Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat, Captain Savrajdeep Singh, Dr Vikas Kumar Gupta, and paramedic Sachin Kumar Mishra.

The tragic incident has left the family and local community in deep shock, highlighting the emotional and financial struggles families face while seeking life-saving treatment.
