Dhurandharhas firmly established itself as one of the biggest recent blockbusters, turning director Aditya Dhar and star Ranveer Singh into national sensations. Its massive box office success has only heightened anticipation for the sequel,Dhurandhar 2. Amid rumours of a possible postponement to avoid a clash with Yash’sToxic, Dhar has confirmed that the film will release as planned in March 2026.
The confirmation came via an Instagram interaction, where Dhar responded to a fan praising him as a “GOAT director,” writing, “So sweet! Thanks! See you in cinemas on 19th March!” — putting all speculation about delays to rest.
Helmed by Aditya Dhar,Dhurandhardraws inspiration from real-life geopolitical events such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The sequel is expected to explore Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza in greater depth, tracing his backstory, rise in Lyari, and the culmination of his covert anti-terror mission.
The film also features a strong ensemble cast including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Rakesh Bedi, further boosting anticipation.
