In a high-profile case, a Faridabad court on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to 54-year-old Singh Raj, dubbed a “psycho killer,” for the kidnapping and murder of a 21-year-old woman from Bhupani village in 2022. The victim’s aunt had filed a missing person report in January 2022, leading police to recover her body from the banks of the Agra Canal.
During interrogation, Singh Raj confessed not only to this crime but also to five other murders, including three minors, his uncle, and his cousin. The prosecution relied on circumstantial evidence, phone records, and witness testimonies to secure the conviction, even without eyewitness accounts.
The court, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Purushottam Kumar, imposed a fine of Rs 2.1 lakh in addition to the life sentence. Singh Raj, a former security guard at a private hospital in Faridabad, remains under investigation for the other pending cases, which include the deaths of minor girls and close relatives. Authorities highlighted the use of modern forensic and investigative techniques in linking him to multiple killings.
