A shocking crime has been reported fromRayagadadistrict in Odisha where a five-year-old boy was allegedly abducted and later murdered on Saturday morning. The incident occurred in Chatikona Puruna Station Sahi under the jurisdiction ofBissamcuttack Police Station.
According to reports, the child had gone missing on Friday evening, prompting concern among family members and residents in the locality. His body was later discovered inside a sack behind an old house in the area, triggering shock and anger among locals.
Preliminary information suggests that a ransom message demanding Rs 4 lakh was sent from an unknown number to the boy’s maternal uncle. The message allegedly warned the family not to inform the police about the abduction.
However, investigators suspect the child was murdered after his throat was slit. The brutal nature of the crime has intensified outrage among residents in the locality.
Police have detained one person in connection with the case and launched a detailed investigation. A scientific team has also reached the spot to collect evidence and examine the crime scene.
Authorities said the case is being investigated from all possible angles to determine the exact sequence of events and identify everyone involved in the crime.
